Deploying Data Service Resources via a GUI
To deploy a data service resource:
- Run the following command from within the OGSA-DAI WSRF binary distribution directory:
$ ant guiDeployResource
- A GUI will then appear. You have the option to:
- Create a data service resource file for a data service resource and deploy the resource. If you select this option and press Next then:
- You can select your data resource type and, if applicable, database product, from those offered.
- When you are happy with your selection, press Next.
- Load a previously saved data service resource file, edit its properties and deploy the resource. If you select this option and press Next then:
- You can select your data service resource file by pressing the Select... button.
- When you are happy with the Path press Next.
- You can now provide the information about the data service resource and the data resource it exposes.
- For relational and XML-based resources this includes:
- Data Resource URI - data resource URI (required). This must be compatible with the driver class specified next.
- Data Resource Driver Class - data resource driver class name. This is optional only if you selected a Files and directories product on the previous window.
- Vendor - data resource product vendor (optional).
- Version - data resource product version (optional).
- Database access credential - Grid certificate credentials of a user permitted to access the data resource. If omitted then any user will be allowed access.
- Database user ID - data resource user name. Optional only if there is no user name required for a database.
- Database password - corresponding data resource password. Optional if there is no user name required, or if the password is null.
- Data Service Resource ID - name for the data service resource (required).
- For file-based resources this includes:
- Directory location - base directory of the file resource (required).
- Data Service Resource ID - name for the data service resource (required).
- For multi resources this includes:
- Service One URL - for multi resources only, the URL of a service exposing the first of the aggregated relational resources.
- Resource One - for multi resources only, the ID of the first of the aggregated relational resources.
- Resource One Description - for multi resources only, a description of the first of the aggregated relational resources (optional).
- Service Two URL - for multi resources only, the URL of a service exposing the second of the aggregated relational resources.
- Resource Two - for multi resources only, the ID of the second of the aggregated relational resources.
- Resource Two Description - for multi resources only, a description of the second of the aggregated relational resources (optional).
- When you are happy with your values, press Next.
- For relational and XML-based data service resources you will be asked to select or change the current selection of the JARs that implement your database driver.
- Using the file browser on the left select a JAR file. Press Add to add it to the list of current driver JARs on the right.
- If you make a mistake or if some of the JARs are no longer valid or required then select the JAR on the right and press Remove to remove it from the list.
- When you are happy with your selections, press Next.
- You should now enter a file name in which to save the information you have provided. These will be saved in a new data service resource file. Press the Select... button, enter a new file name in the File name field then press Select
- When you are happy with the Path press Next.
- You can now select your Web services container by pressing the Select... button.
- When you are happy with the Path press Next.
- You will now be requested to press Next so that the tool can deploy the data service resource.
- If any problems occur then the tool will notify you of these.
- When the deployment has completed a completion window will be displayed. Press Finish to exit the tool.
